Effective Alternate Treatment For Back Pain

Can Effective Alternate Treatment For Back Pain be found in Alternative Medicine or Alternative Therapies?

Back_PainCome to think of it, a lot of people suffer from back pain these days without finding any cure with orthodox medicine ( I don’t understand why modern medicine is called orthodox medicine), the reason may be incorrect diagnosis or ineffectiveness of the prescribed drug or drugs.

In fact the pain killer or the so called analgesic the was prescribed to you stops working after some time since the body develops a resistance against the medication. This results either increase in the dosage or prescription of another analgesic or an NSAID non-steroidal anti-inflammatory Drug, this sort of becomes a cycle and pain becomes something that people have to live with forever.

However, for many  people who have not been able to obtain an exact diagnosis of their back pain problems, seeking alternative therapies for obtaining relief might be a better choice. But to find the right kind of effective alternate treatment for back pain is a big problem.

Here are some suggestions:

Massage therapy:

The art of massage has been used for years as a tool for relief and relaxation. An experienced masseuse can massage the points of pain in your back, especially if it is caused by a strained muscle. Another way of massage is through the use of cupping or dry hijama. The basic principle is same instead of hand massage vacuum cups are used at certain points creating a suction and lifting the muscles bringing the blood circulation at the point and then a massage action is performed. Wet Hijama is also used where small amount of blood is drained out at certain specific points.

People have been known to attain a state of relaxation and painlessness after undergoing a well executed massage or cupping therapy. Some people also argue that acupuncture or pressure point massage may be more effective than Swedish massage.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is also an effective alternate treatment for back pain that has been in existence thousands of year, rooted in ancient civilizations of Asia, acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into specific parts of the body for the purpose of taking away the pain. Acupuncture has been proved to work for chronic pain. It has provided short term relief from back pain for a great deal of people.

Physical therapy and exercise:

Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, you can stretch and exercise your back pain away. Exercise and physical therapy as a whole has been known to work well with chronic back pain sufferers than with acute back pain sufferers. Most back pain sufferers have also found relief from the education of the psycho-social factors of back pain.
